J had a decent amount of open space in her garage to begin with, so our time was mostly spend rearranging items to fit better, choosing which items could be thrown away, recycled or donated, and sweeping and vacuuming the floor and all the cobwebs. Regularly used items such as laundry supplies are much more accessible and once-a-year boxes were put up in the top shelf storage.
